The Arc And the hurt was so That tears fell out of the sky So long was the flood Humanity was destined to die All seemed lost and the end was near But a man stepped forward Without any fear He stood on a mountain And screamed at the sky He said "You cannot kill my people We are not ready to die!" So he built an ark Yes he built it well With his own bare hands The trees he fell The dirt on his brow Was heavy with fate His kindred would die If he finished too late The first day afloat He took to the seas She sped across the waves With the greatest of ease He searched the earth Both far and wide And brought two of each animal To stand by his side When the arc was full Together they sailed Ocean to ocean Never to fail Sunrise to sunset Sea to Sea No land in sight The earth was free No time was wasted Teachings were remembered They sat by the fires And watched the embers That burned the earth The one that passed Never to be seen This day was the last The waters receded And the ship ran ashore He gathered his companions Then opened the doors The sun was shining The land was new There were so many things In this new world to do The sky was blue And the trees were green There were beautiful new places Left to be seen The Great Hand had smitten The earths people were punished But some still lived And the planet would flourish A time had passed But new ones were to begin Thanks to a man Who had the faith from within 8/12/1993
